About me
A dub carer for most of my life, I have recently acquired a T34 S.... A pretty good one by all account, but still in need of lovin'. Other dubs in the collection include a low light Bay, a 60 Bug with turbo power, a 60 ragtop currently undergoing a resto/mod progam, a WRX power early Notch, a slammed but mostly stock early Square and finally.... A Volksrod project.

  • The T34 of my dreams has been sitting under a cover in the shed for over 6 months now... Unloved and incomplete.... Still looking for some good battery tray pans to let in, the 12volt conversion to be completed in the engine bay, the transaxle needs repairing, the fancy new Vintage Speed exhaust needs to be modded to fit the TIII engine, the dash wiring to be repaired and one fog lamp bucket to be reconstructed.... Apart from all that, the major work is done. But first the Bus needs a new engine and turbocharging and efi, and slamming and FUCH's fitted first.... And the POS (my drag car) needs prepping for the next event, and the ragtop is almost ready for media blasting..... And..... And.... And.... Sheesh!

    [quote="ScottMcW" post=6201]Hey all,

    Tim is a member of this site. It was his yard that they went to! Maybe he will share some stories.

    To be fair to the AP guys, I've known people who have collected VWs for years and years and have never seen a Type34, much less be able to talk about one.[

    Yeah I have a roller at the last school I taught at... I know they'd let me at it.... Haven't had a go at the MDF method, but have thought about giving it a shot... A mate built his hotrod using this method, so that's a possibility....

    Might have a closer look at the car this weekend.... Maybe th

  • All good advise, but there are a few other things to do when you do a 12v conversion.... Don't forget the relays and the regulator if your going with the gennie option....

    If you can't source a suitable 12v wiper motor there is another option.... I have used an interior light dimmer (out of and
