Most of you will already know that 2011 is the 50th anniversary for the Type 34 Karmann Ghia, and September 2011 will mark 50 years since it's debut at the 1961 Frankfurt Auto Show. Celebrations are to be held on August 11 to 14 at Georgsmarienhütte in Osnabrück, the location of the Karmann factory, and are being arranged through http://www.50-jahre-typ-34.de The Type 34 Registry will also be sharing in the celebrations next year with a new look website, some great promotions, and a retrospective look back at over 10 years of rescuing, restoring, preserving and promoting the Type 34 Karmann Ghia.
